After years of lending her voice to other people's work, NINA HERZOG’s time has come to step out from behind the curtain to take her place in the spotlight, and to tell the story that she’s been writing for all these years.
Starting her professional singing career at the age of twelve, HERZOG spent her formative years developing her talents, becoming a highly sought after studio singer for Universal and Sony Music, as well as doing Broadway demos and commercial jingles. A breakout would come as both the singing and speaking voice of "Odette, The Swan Princess," in Sony Animation’s The Swan Princess. She was also regular collaborator of the late Emmy and GRAMMY® Award-winning composer and arranger, Patrick Williams (Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Michael Bublé).
Now, she has teamed up with Producer and Arranger Phillip Peterson (Lorde, Ed Sheeran, Jessie Ware) to blend their mutual appreciation of orchestration and pop, the duo found themselves integrating more contemporary sounds. Using synthesizers, drum machines, and other experimental elements, on top of lush violin and cello lines, they crafted a number of beautiful cinematic pop songs that would become her debut EP, which will be released in early 2021.
"Changing Seasons" is the first track, which showcases her music and style as intimate, vulnerable, and hopeful. The track opens with warm acoustic guitar strums, a sprinkling of high piano notes and a mellow R&B backbeat. HERZOG's soft vocal is full of yearning as she faces the coming of winter alone. "The desire to experience the changing seasons is a metaphor for experiencing love and life fully," she said.
With this track and more to come, NINA HERZOG is getting ready to let the world hear her inner voice for once.
